Alun Leach-Jones was one of Australia's best known abstract artists. He worked across paintings, screen prints, drawings and sculptures, and is best remembered for his distinctive hard-edge paintings which saw him associated with “The New Abstraction” in Australian art from the very outset of his career.

Alun Leach-Jones is recognised as being a significant teacher and mentor to young Australian artists. For almost two decades, he lectured at the UNSW College of Fine Arts. This memorial exhibition celebrates an artist whose contribution through his work and teaching had a formative impact on a generation of artists and art lovers throughout Australia.
